Darren Horst – Board Chair
Mr. Horst has over 25 years of business experience in major corporations and start ups. Currently Mr. Horst is Vice President and General Manager of Central Garden and Pet – Controls Group. Mr. Horst serves on two Boards: TechPac LLC and RISE. Mr. Horst has served on a number of non-profit boards in the capacities of President, Treasurer, Communications Chair and several other committee capacities.
Stacy Horst – President
Mrs. Horst is a licensed Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams. In addition to owning her own Real Estate Firm she has many professional certifications. Most importantly Mrs. Horst has served in multiple roles for non-profit organizations (Civic and Faith Based); most notably she was Director for CAP (Child Assault Prevention) in Medina Ohio.
Nikita Kini- Executive Director
Ms. Kini graduated in December 2017 with her Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in Health Management and Policy from Georgia State University. Interning for the Georgia Department of Public Health and Atlanta Harm Reduction Coalition in the past, she gained valuable experience in how public health programs are implemented and executed.
Christine Carrier – Secretary
Ms. Carrier has over 30 years in the television communications industry. She is currently Senior Vice President of Affiliate Sales and Marketing at Starz Entertainment. Ms. Carrier has been involved in a number of charity organizations and boards generally organizing/implementing fund raising events.
Joanne Voorhees – Treasurer
Mrs. Voorhees is a finance and marketing executive with over 30 years of experience in both public and private accounting, business finance and marketing. Currently she is the Senior Director of Business Finance Data Management at Verint Systems. Mrs. Voorhees and her husband are also raising a teenage son with High Functioning Autism.
Darrell Kinkaid – Vice President
Mr. Kinkaid is the Vice President, Technical Services for Arby’s Restaurant Group. He has over 30 years of Restaurant Industry Management Experience in multiple roles. Mr. Kinkaid is also a certified Stephens Minister.
Dr. Julia Pezzi – Member
Dr. Pezzi is a retired School Psychologist and Dr. Pezzi has served on several non-profit boards. She currently serves as Vice-President on the board of Camp Horsin’ Around; a camp facility for children with serious and chronic illnesses, or physical difficulties.
Clyde Ogden – At Large Member – Director Communications
Mr. Ogden is the founder and Creative Director of Ogden-Ritenour; a branding and graphic design firm serving entrepreneurial, mid-market, and Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Ogden has more than 25 years of positioning and branding experience, serving clients as varied as U.S. Bank, UPS, VeriFone, Duke Realty, Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, X Games, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Habitat for Humanity, and Atlanta Humane Society.
Rachael Horst – At Large Member
Miss Horst is the daughter of Darren and Stacy Horst, the founders of Erin’s Hope for Friends. She is studying at Savannah College of Art and Design, Atlanta for her B.F.A in Photography. Miss Horst has volunteered as a camp counselor as well as small group leaders in multiple campus ministries and has a passion for helping her peers feel confident in who they are.
Becky Matthews – Program Assistant
Mrs. Matthews has worked with children most of her adult life. She worked as a teaching assistant and Music Teacher at Kennesaw Methodist Children’s Academy for 11 years. She is also the coordinator of the Special Needs Ministry at Kennesaw United Methodist Church. As a parent of a high-functioning autistic son, she has a special place in her heart for these amazing kids and their parents.
